Regardless if it's on the ground or off the ground put down chicken wire. My rabbits had an 8'x8'x8' pen on the ground with a side annex for food and water that was off the ground. They will dig out if you have them on the ground. It's a good idea to have an area for them on the ground for cold weather. I had a wooden box in the corner full of hay to keep them warm.

I would build the run with 8' 2x4's and chicken wire. Probably make the run 12"x12" or 18x18.

Chicken wire is the best to use.

You can even use something as simple as zip ties to attach it together. Just make sure you have a roof as even if it is too high for them to jump out, predators (i.e. birds, cats) can still get in.

to build the run i woulr suget to get sum wood and mesh and use teh wood to make a frame anf the mmesh to pt arond teh frame so teh rabbit cant get out i hope i colud help you

my dad made a one for me he use long peices of wood with chicked wire screws and himges mine also fold down to store away have a look on the web for i deas

NOOOOO CHICKEN WIRE belive me, I have worked with iot before.

theres points on the edge where your fingers can get stuck..and your rabbits could chew through it if they really wanted to, have had it happen to me! ! ! !
