There are several issues that can be raised from your question/statement.

1. How do the business makes money?

2. What are the goals of the business?

3. Are the goals good/beneficial?

4. How do their goals are achieved?

Further question that are important in assessing whether a business is poorly performing or not.

5. What consititute a good business? (very subjective)

Definitely, if your answers to the above (first 4 questions) questions are not good, then your business is not a good business. But if your answer to the first 4 questions are good, then your business is good.

I guess it all depends on what else you are trying to achieve from opening up a business.

Apart frm the income, some people could probably want to learn new things about the business world, more about the profession you're dealing with.

If i were to open up my own business one day, i think what i would want apart from the income, would be the satisfaction of pleased customers, the knowledge i could get frm starting my own business.
