why not to send a lot of water in the way of deserts to fight the global warming?

how to send.?

just follow the same level curve with canals (1% slop)

Mise à jour:

Where to find the water?

On each rivers bassin a lot of water is lost by going back to the sea or making floods.

That why we must have a globale water management all over the planet (type: "gestion globale de l'eau" on google search and click on frist website you'll see)

Mise à jour 2:

the deserts come from the air cycle. Cold and dry air coming back from poles bring also the dryness and that why the deserts is very sensitive to the overpumping of deep water.

The only way to stop thsi way is to irrigat the deserts starting by all half-desertic places too.

Sometime stupids answers make l you laugh first and then unblock your meat you have in your head to make it start to think .... think more and you will realize it is a good idea

Mise à jour 4:

I know the planet is mostly cover with water.

the water cycle can be in horizontal or vertical way up and down.

Actualy the enlargment of the deserts because of human activities accelerat the water cycle on some lines . we can act to resolve the repartition of water to help it to infiltrat in the grounds ( Like it did before when the wolrd was cover with more forests )

see "biefs du Pilat"

Mise à jour 5:

we don't need to desalt the sea water.(I means with high technology of ultra filtration ) the sun do it , we can help him.

The sun evaporat the sea water and push on continent. Just make a complementary network of canals following same level curves to drive the water in the way of dry . And don't be afraid to lost water on the way of the canal , it feels underground spaces to push the deserts back too.

Mise à jour 6:

Sharing the water over the bounderies of country it the best way to fight poorness too. the repartition of water all over the planet is the way of history for humanity

thats a interesting idea,i mentioned this in tunesia, a couple of years ago, but more like a form of irrigation, to pump large quantities of seawater on the land ,but was disregarded (,to salt.)

but if you would flood some part of the hahel, continious, it would attrack rain, and even there is vegatation (salt water plants)

than the rains would reduce the saltlevel, and other vegatation would start to develop.

in israel they having large irrigation systems but thats fresh water.

maybe they should try it out in non populated areas in north

africa,in a large scale to find out the affects,in principle it may could help against global warming.

but most of this countries are poor, so who would be willing to finance something like that, interesting question

the surface of the earth is 75% covered with seas, evaporation of water produces a cooling effect. if we have All this water receiving sunlight and evaporating, why we would need more? deserts don't occupy large surfaces globally wide. besides, if you want plants to grow on deserts, it will have to be sweet water, and is not economical to get all that water in the amounts needed there. and id wouldn't work because global warming occurs when sunlight cant be reflected efficiently to space, due to gases in the atmosphere, so the problem are the gases and not the temperature, that is an effect of the presence of the gases

Water vapor is a more powerful greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide. Evaporation of water sent to deserts would just increase the humidity of the air above those deserts and make global warming WORSE!

And where is the water coming from? Colorado? We're already sending water to the deserts and look what's happened with it. They're making green in Las Vegas and Palm Springs and building fountains that speeds up the evaporation. Colorado gets to use it last of anyone. Great idea.

Deserts are increasing but then so is evaporation of water due to rising temperatures and the increased radiation from the Ozone holes. You would only aid in the evaporation by trying to irrigate deserts. We need to stop the temperature rises to stop the increase of deserts.

That has to be the most stupid answer to fighting global warming I have ever read.
