Quickest way from Waterloo to Hammersmith?

Could Londoners please tell me what is the quickest way to go from Waterloo International (Eurostar Terminal) to Hammersmith on a weekday around 7PM ? Thanks !

A taxi might take 20 minutes, but the tube might only take a couple of minutes longer and is far cheaper. As you can see from the other answers, there are several options if you take the tube:

    1. Jubilee (grey on map) + Piccadilly (dark blue) lines (change at Green Park) -

9 stops, but you have to walk much further across Waterloo station than if you caught the other tube lines (Bakerloo or Northern). Some Piccadilly line trains are designed for airport passengers so have extra space for suitcases.

    2. Jubilee (grey) + District (green) lines (change at Westminster) -

10 stops, the same catch as above, plus District line trains make an extra stop at West Brompton. Note: Ignore District line trains going to Fulham Broadway, Putney Bridge, East Putney or Wimbledon, as you will then also have to change trains at Earls Court.

    3. Bakerloo (brown)/Northern (black) + District (green) lines (change at Embankment) -

    11 stops.

    4. Bakerloo (brown) + Piccadilly (dark blue) lines (change at Piccadilly Circus) -

    11 stops.

    5. Northern (black) + Piccadilly (dark blue) lines (change at Leicester Square) -

    12 stops.

Allow two minutes per stop, plus five minutes for changing lines, so the quickest route (Jubilee and Piccadilly via Green Park) should take 20-25 minutes.

There is also a direct bus to Hammersmith (the 211) but that takes 62-63 minutes by London Transport's own reckoning.

Jubilee Line from Waterloo to Green Park

Piccadilly Line from Green Park to Hammersmith

From the time you board the first train, you should be at Hammersmith station 26 minutes later.

I agree with jo jo. Be careful not to get on a District line train going to Wimbledon as this will not go to Hammersmith.

If you have time on your hands you could catch a 211 bus from the stop outside the Eurostar terminal direct to Hammersmith - but only if you have plenty of time!

I'd go one stop from Waterloo to Westminster on the Jubilee line (grey one) and then Change onto the westbound District line (green one) straight through 9 stops to Hammersmith. You should have missed most of the rush hour by 7pm too.

Tube; Bakerloo to Paddington and then change to the Hammersmith and City Line to Hammersmith.

By tube - 22-25 mins via Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines, change at Piccadilly Circus

Northern Line or Bakerloo (southbound) to Embankment and then change to the District Line (westbound) to Hammersmith
