  • Will someone please tell me if I stick to the point or am I not even covering the topic?

This is English HW and i'm suppose to tell my opinion if I believe in destiny or not.

I don't believe in destiny, its just the way things happen, people make their own destiny there is no superior god, force or supernatural thing that creates our future its us. What we do today affects our tomorrow for example if you drop out of school its obvious that you will not be sitting behind a desk, taking days off, have a mansion or earn more than the minimum wage. Its common sense that you will be working two jobs and these will be some of your choices cleaning bathrooms, be a dishwasher, taxi driver or a cook(fast food) your life wont be easy as you see. If destiny exists then why not use it as an excuse when we want to be lazy, ''Oh look I failed four classes its not my fault its destiny'' I believe there is no excuse in life is what you make of it, if you want to end up in the streets then go for it, if that's your goal and if you accomplish it then you are successful. What I do believe is in luck for example my cousin was hit by a car three weeks ago,I remember the tube down his esophagus to help him breathe and all the other thinner ones to feed him, for anaesthesia and other things I don't know. The conditions he was in, he was lucky to survive now he's recovering and seems like in another week or so he'll be back to normal. There are many other examples of luck just like the creator of Pillow-Pet they were average people came up with an idea and now are making millions of dollars and it was all luck. Their pillows could have easily been unsuccessful because is just an animal head in the front of the pillow and that's it, they took a risk and look at them now. Everything that we experience in life is base on our actions it isn't destiny, we change our mind all the time making different decisions if it were destiny we wouldn't be battling ourselves all the time.

  • Is this good enough? how to improve it?

For HW I have to write a concrete poem and I just dont know if this is good enough or how to end it

will you please give me an idea

You have stolen something from me

    And its called my heart

Was it your yellow sunray face?

Or was it your punking color cheeks?

could it be your black color beak?

    No thats not it

It was your fluffy grey body and your pigeon wings

Or your dainty beak marks on my things

    My cockatiel you're like Narcissus

    but your so capricious

  • Does this sound like a personal statement? what is missing?

    First Memory

My first memory starts when I was about five, I didnt know why all of the sudden we where leaving everything behind. Saying good-bye to my father at the place that I now know is called an airport. Finally seen an airplane for the first time but it wasnt a vacation or something that I want to remmember. It was a new place, an environment that I wasnt used to, I didnt know I was in another country.

We went to a house, there were big black metal gates, once you pass the entrance there was a small patio then you went down three or four steps and there was another black door. When we entered the first thing I saw was the kitchen, the house was an open place there were no doors in the inside, there was only a curtain separating the kitchen from the room and the living room. There was a bed and somebody was lying down on it, the woman had long white hair. She was my grandmother.

Everytime my mom talks about my grandmoter she anwers the questions that I had when I was young but mostly the ones that I didnt have back then. Like why my grandmother wanted to be near us for the entire time we were there. why did my grandmother left all of the sudden? where did she go the time we didnt saw her? Why did you used to leave us with our aunts sometimes?

The answer to all of the questions was because my grandmother had stomach ulcer. My grandmother was taken to many different hospitals because nobody knew what the problem was. It wasnt the first time that my grandmother have had the pain, but they all said that it was nothing to worry about.

It got to the point in which my grandmothers stomach couldnt take it and it burst. The infection started spreading to the other organs, she was taken to surgery but they couldnt do much and left her stomach open, only covered with a cloth and told my mom she wouldnt make it to the next surgery which was in a week. My grandmother did make it to the last surgery but died at the table.

That is why I volunteer at RAIN (Regional Aid for Interim Needs) and I help senior citizens, they are my family now. When I talk to them I always say to my self,''my grandmother could have been alive right now''.My grandmother is the reason why I want to study the field of medicine to help those in need. To stop another thing like this from ever happening again.

  • What would you have done?

So I am doing community service and this is for the honor society program that im in . This is what happened today I was serving food to homeless people but then when there were two people left, an old lady and a man. The old lady came up to me and I was serving coffee to someone and told me you have no dignity because she said that my blouse showed too much, in the first place I don't wear things that show too much like she says. She told me I should cover more because I was at a church. Then when I was cleaning the tables she came to me and said If I go to church and how I should go to church and I need to go everyday to cover my sins and all that. she annoyed me I'm sorry to say that. when I moved back she came closer to me and told me how immigrants have the fault to what is going on around That really bothered me because if you look back at history everyone is an immigrant the only people that are real americans here are the Native Americans , Ididn'tt say a thing so that she will go away but I feel weak I always defend myself but I did not want to argue to an old lady.

This is an example of the tank top that I was wearing but I had a sweater so thats why It looked like a blouse.

  • what should I do?Help right away!!! please!!?

Is just that he was a great friend but once we were sitting together and he was singing and then we were talking but all of the sudden he started touching my hair and I felt uncomfortable then my neck and I tried every move to get him to stop touching my neck without telling him no(I don't find the courage to say no).But then he moved to touching my ear and then my cheek and I didn't like that at all but did not know what to do, this week I did everything to avoid talking to him ,but on friday he told me to sit next to him I made up an excuse not to.he is a senior i'm a junior in high school. but what should I do I don't take him as Friend now i'm afraid the same thing will happen again by the way he has a girlfriend.
