  • Need advice on 12 month old whos had sleep issues since birth..desperate?

    short back story:

since about two weeks old she has a hard time sleeping from screaming and crying through the night, to just being awake.. shes always getting sick every few weeks

Lately, she'll sleep sound for the first 2 or 3 hrs, then hell starts. on good nights she lets me rock her. but she wont go back into deep sleep til 4 hrs later. on bad nights, she screams and cries for that time period before she goes back to sleep. when she does go back to sleep she only sleeps for another 3 hrs, and is ready to start the day...

im not sleeping at all... maybe 3 to 4 hrs of broken sleep, and after a few bad night i start getting depressed once the no sleep blue kick in. i'm useless during the day, and i have a 4 year old as well. i need advice... anything...

doctors have told me its normal.. or that from being sick the first time when she was young she got used to being held, and shes just spoiled... but most of the time its not me that she wants because she pushes off me and fights being rocked on the bad nights.

pls help! its been a year, and i'm worn.

  • need answers, 8 month old in pain?

going to try to make a long history short..

Ever since she was born shes been a crying baby, it sorta helped when she was switched to alimentum formula. dr. assumes allergies, shes on singular.

at about 5 months she started having fever and congestion every other week..the last time she has a weird wheeze with it... tested for flu. rsv.. all negitive.

she scratches and digs in her ears constantly. (dr said no ear ache) yet when i put the ear numbing drops in her ear that we had from a previous ear ache it seems to help.

since about 6 months old.. she started whinning/crying all night..in what seems like pain.. she barely sleeps, there for i dont sleep.. Its been 2 months of this, i just want to know why. and a little sleep wouldnt hurt either :P

shes got an allergy appt on tuesday, but in my gut i feel like its not allergies, and maybe she needs an ear nose and throat doc.

any ideas on whats happening here, or how to have better nights until we can hopefully figure it out?

  • Teething? Flu? Virus? Opinions pls 7 month old?

Shes been having a low fever since yesterday, only got to 102 once. other times 99/100 Been alternating mortin and tylenol. Today she started getting red spots on her feet, now its all over, flush with the skin.. but also a few above the skin spots that look like ant bites.

shes been great mood wise until this evening.. she fought sleep, didnt want to eat (never happens) she drank juice though.. later she wanted her formula, then half way through starts SCREAMING and crying.. nothing helped, she passed out on me after a few minutes. she woke up crying a few min later again.. tried the juice.. and i noticed she was chewing on the nipple.. then i gave her my finger and she chewed and moaned. then the screaming and crying again and passing out on me.. is that enough to know that its her teeth? or should we take a trip to the ER

  • Need help with home schooling 3 yr old, read more?

My daughter is 3 yrs and 4 months old. I need to start structured learning with her. I already have a leading lesson that she begs to do. But i need help with where to start her with other things..

    Things she knows:

-She of course knows and recognizes upper and lower case letters, knows colors, shapes, etc can count to 13 with out getting tripped up.

-She Can recognize some words, like Go, exit, the, cat (not too many though)

-She can draw well, people, shapes

-can write some numbers and letters (not many)

-learned to read a digital clock

-learned better grammar, like when to say she vs. her

i'm sure i left some stuff out, but that can give you her experience, so you can help me know where to start!

i need to do something, she amazed me the other day.. we were talking about earth.. and i asked if she knew what the earth was.. and she said " a planet" :) i knew i had to get cracking on teaching her.

Thanks so much for any ideas and help, ive never done this before :)

  • Bumbo Seat, and chubby legged baby?

i finally got my bumbo seat to find that i might not use it.. it hugs her legs tight and after a few min she wants to get out. so, i know its suppose to be snug to keep them in there, but it just doesnt look compfy for her..

my question is to others who have experinced this, did they get used to it, did you wind up not using it at all?

  • how long to try soy formula to see if it makes a difference?

i'd just hate to keep her on it if its not necessary. I read up on it and it seems to be controversal on the hormones the baby can get from soy not being good... so i just want to know how long should i try it to see any difference

  • mommy diagnosis pls, almost 4 mos..issues?

    bear with me...

history: daddy with acid refulx, sister had bad infant refulx.

ok, at about 2 or 3 weeks my daughter was inconsolable most of the day/night. crying in pain. ate every 2 hrs! took her to the doctor, deemed as colic.. yeah right. calmed down after a few weeks, but not totally. took her for her 2 month shots (new doctor) was concerned about her weight and eating every two hrs. suggested reflux medicine and cereal in bottle. ok.. done. did better.. but the pain crying started up again soon after worse than before. sucking on my finger, low and behold i think i found a tooth. started using teething remedies, worked. weeks later shes still having crazy screaming and crying issues. on a good day she might do it once. on a bad day.. ugh.

i'm starting to think it might be more than teething? what would you think it was?

shes 3 months and 3 weeks old. eats every three hours, 4 ounces w/cereal
