  • My laptop uses a lot of CPU, any help?

    The problem is, it's not just one program - It's several, each using about ten percent, leaving me with a hellishly slow laptop.

    The problem seems to occur mostly when I'm listening to music, watching streaming videos on the internet, or using µtorrent...One of these things is usually enough to render my laptop almost unusable.

    I've tried switching from Windows Media Player to the lower-memory Foobar2000, but it still takes up a good bit of memory (10%, plus anothr 10% from Vista's Audiodg.exe).

    Task manager says I have a whopping one hundred applications open, which seems to be way too much...

    And lastly, I've got an Acer Aspire 7720ZG with Windows Vista on it. I bought it last year, so it shouldn't be that outdated already. I don't really use it to play video games, either, so...

    Anyways, could anyone help me? It'd be much appreciated.
