I play Xbox 360 games. I play computer games. I play WoW. I get bored at work and answer questions about the above.
Keeping a cat in a rented room.?
I rent a room in a house and I've been thinking of getting a cat. I wont really feel comfortable letting the cat roam the house, as it would be a burden on my land lady. I don't want to let the cat outside as I live on a busy street with a bus stop, and there are a lot of cats in the area.
I figured I could just keep the cat in my room and make sure it doesn't get out during the day. I'd be willing to have a litter box, food dish, bed, and scratching post in my room. I'll probably have to open the window a few time for ventilation, but that's not a big deal to me.
My questions:
1. How easy is it to train a cat not to try to sneak out the door or to possibly claw at the window screen? Will the water bottle and double stick tape work?
2. Are there any health hazards to keeping a pet isolated in a room? Are there any cat food brands that can minimize odors while still being nutritional?
3. Do cats prefer their food all at once, or can I feed half before work and then half after?
4. If the cat chooses to urinate in an innappropriate place (bed, laundry), how do I punish it and make it associate said punishment with the improper urination?
5. Will a cat be okay on its own if it has toys? How would I be able to tell if it is happy?
Thanks

Okay, now this may sound a little horrible to cat lovers, but I'd really like to "repair" my cat.
So my land lady got a new black cat about 4 months ago. When it first got to the house, all it did was hide under the furniture and growl REALLY loud when you got near, which led to it being named Demon. I probably didn't help it adjust by trying to lift the furniture and grab it. Occasionally, I'd catch it and pet it, but then it'd just run and hide whenever it thought it could get away.
There's another cat that lives here that's two or three years older, but is super mellow. She's a pretty big gray cat named Romy, and she almost seems capable of understanding people.
Anyways, Demon took to following Romy around, and really only hangs with her. On a rare occasion, Demon will come inside and be in the same room as my land lady.
As soon as Demon sees me though, she darts under a bed or out a door. The few times I've caught her, she's clawed me.
My question: Is there a way to make this cat more into people? Can I make her mellow out and let people pick her up and pet like Romy does? Or should I just throw the cat in the pool and forget about her?

I'm going to my churchy friend's place for "Movie Night". They are alright with action, but his wife scares easily. I need a decent movie, preferably action, that isn't too scary. Also, I'd prefer minimal profanity and no nudity.
My initial ideas were Tombstone or Transformers, but I'm just looking for alternative suggestions. Thanks.
