My motto is, "Don't raise your voice; strengthen your argument." It drives my husband batty! lol Go Colts!

  • My car had ridden smoothly for about 350 miles today, with no warning lights or odd noises/shimmies.?

I went in a store, came back to start it. It made a grinding, then a popping sound, followed by a burning smell. It turns over, but it continues to make the horrible popping sound and feels as if energy is surging and waning. It's a 2003 Ford Expedition that was just given a clean bill of health by my mechanic two weeks ago. What could it possibly be (aside from "nothing good" lol)?

  • Why don't we offer Haiti US Territory Status, ala Puerto Rico, then help them rebuild properly?

The active word here is "offer"--not coerce or force. Could we not do a great deal of good for the people there in that way? Other places in that region are under our sphere of protection. Why not extend the offer to the long-suffering nation?

  • Exactly what in this answer equates to me "spewing hatred" at the asker?

His Question and Comments Directed to Me:

Why do Conservatives hate Arab countries so much?

I mean, you really can't get any more conservative than most of them. Their religion dictates their laws and policies. Homosexuality is illegal, as is abortion. Only a few huge companies exist for all commerce. The rich are not taxed, there's no estate tax. There's no universal health care, there's pretty much none actually. There's no welfare queens, there's no welfare! The rich stay rich and the poor stay poor. Come on all of you conservatives....let's move to Saudi Arabia!

    Additional Details:

Hey conservative momma! You're talking to a USAF veteran of Desert Storm/Shield and Southern Watch.. 3 tours in the Gulf: al Kharj, Dharhan, and Riyadh. I believe I fought vehemntly for you to spew your hatred towards me. You're welcome! SSgt. USAF/USAFR 10th AMC, 110th ATC, 7th Air Force USAFE, baby!

    My answer:

So remind me again exactly why it is that Liberals attack us and defend them so vehemently?

I don't see how any self-respecting Feminist could support Fundamentalist Muslim ideals.

    Source(s):

If the UN was really the advocate for human rights that it claims to be, it would have stepped in on behalf of women in the fundamentalist Islamic sects long, long ago.

And, by the way, you guys seem to be lumping all Muslims together--not us! We recognize that there are moderate Muslims throughout the world: Turkey, the UAE (where Dubai is, by the way), the USA, Bosnia, etc. etc. etc. Even Iran, until the Shah was ousted, was rather "Western" and moderate. The evils of Fundamentalist Islam are, perhaps, the worst for the women there, as they have known life with greater freedom, only to have it taken away forcibly by the Imam-run government.

How can Liberals defend such things with a clear conscience?

    EDIT:

Exactly HOW have I "spewed hatred" at you? I take issue with your beliefs; that is in no way the same thing. Trust me--I've received MANY personal attacks, as well as threats, through this forum--what I have offered you is none of that. Please read it again; you'll find only sincere discourse about the issue at hand.

I just reread my answer, and unless you work for the UN, I most certainly did not slam you in any way. If you can't handle debate, perhaps you should not ask questions that invite it.

  • Is it just me, or does the Big O make Chamberlain look as stalwart as old Stonewall Jackson, by comparison?

If appeasement was wine, we'd all be drunk off our tails right now.

First he kisses the fannies of every European he can get to bend over for him, then he bows to the Saudi king!? WTH?

  • My fellow Kentuckians, have you taken a gander at Rand Paul for Senator?

While he's best known as the son of Ron Paul, his merit is much deeper than that. He seems to be part of a dying breed: a TRUE fiscal Conservative and old-school Republican, not just another neo-con with an emotion-based agenda. Please, take a closer look:

  • Did anyone else notice that the familiar "U-S-A" chant was shunned in favor of "O-Bam-A"?

I've watched a lot of inaugurations, but I've never seen one where the nation itself played such a minor role.....

  • Does anyone have any special, magical ways of reinforcing my 8-yr-old son's belief in Santa?

I just need one more year--they grow up so quickly!

Make your answers fun--and cheap! (Santa's had to do some costly repairs on the sleigh this week!)
