Acer Aspire 3002LCi Laptop won't boot.?
I attempted to add additional memory. The memory stick didn't fit so I removed the original 256 stick to compare them side by side. I saw there was a tiny difference, which was why it didn't fit, so I replaced the original stick and closed the machine.
Now when I push the power button, the button itself lights up but nothing else happens. There is a brief sound that stops immediately then there is no CPU noise or monitor activity at all.
I removed and replaced the memory to confirm it is properly inserted. I removed the battery and replaced it to reset and make sure it's tight.
However, in reviewing my steps in my mind, I realize I forgot to remove the battery while working with the memory! I fear I may have shorted out the motherboard, although there was no indication of it at the time.
Would there have been any spark or other indication while I was actually working on it?
Is there anything else that could be causing this machine to not work?
I thank everybody in advance for any assistance you may offer.
