when you're chatting with friends/peers, what's the topic that either silences you or gets you irritated?

Hi! I have to describe the landscape of my hometown for German class. How do I say that a place is hilly or "not flat?" Google translate confuses me, because it gave me several options for "hill," and I don't know which one to use.

I want to be a writer in the future. I love expressing my ideas through words...but I could really use a boost with my vocabulary skills.

Could you list any books or works that can help, or just give me some ideas as to how to do so?

Also: sorry for asking too much...but do you feel that it's worth it to make a living off of writing? or do you think it's too low pay to depend on for income? I saw English literature on the list of top 10 most useless college majors.

in order to graduate high school, our district requires us to pass a swimming proficiency test... maybe it's because we live by the coast... but i always thought it was totally unneccessary...

my heart is set on the sanyo, but i've read quite a few negative reviews about freezing problems...

also, i currently have a lg rumor, and i find the exclaim to be similar, so i want a change

so is it true that the incognito is as bad as they say it is? is it true that for the incognito, you can't set texting to vibrate only?

for me, it's the hat rule. they don't let us wear hats or caps in the building... and they never gave a reason for why having a warmer head is a bad thing =P
