How do you convince a 10 yr old boy that he can love both his father and his step-dad..more info..?
I divorced when my son was 8. His father's parental rights were terminated for good reasons, but I have allowed my son to keep in contact under my supervision with his real dad, only when he chooses to do so. We do not talk bad or down graded his real dad (even thoough he is truely not good for a child at all) I am now remarried, (recently) and my son loves his step-dad more than his real dad and feels guilty because of the normal father - son loyalty. We have talked with him in great detail over this, and already explained how loving both dad's is normal and perfectly ok, and why. Do you all have anything further you could offer on insight that I might add to that, and comfort my son?
