What are the best acting schools to take classes at if you're trying to become an actor/actress?
I live in Washinton D.C. area. I'm interested in schools in my area as well as schools in NYC. I have found Stella Adler and The Acting Studio in NYC but I'm not planning to take a 1 or 2 year conservatory program. I just want to take classes that are held once a week for 8 weeks to 4 months. Are these 2 schools good? What are the best schools to take classes at? Thanks!!

I have talked to actors such as Bridget Regan from Legend of the Seeker, Cheske Spencer and Tinsel Korey from Twilight, as well as other actors and they all told me to take acting classes if I wanted to become an actress. However, I noticed that the acting schools such as Stella Adler have acting workshops not acting classes for those interested in part-time study. I dont live in NY so I wanted to take part time classes once a week for like 8-10 weeks. Is an acting workshop the same as taking an acting class? Will it look as good on my acting resume? Thanks in advance!!

I hate having to repeat choreography after someone else! Its boring and not fun for me! I feel like a monkey following someone, doing the same moves they are doing!
