  • Statue support ideas?

I'm trying to complete a plaster statue, a nude woman standing on a clamshell, but I can't seem to get the feet to stick to the shell without breaking either at the foot or the ankle. I'm starting to think it must be an engineering problem. How can I increase the contact area and still have it look good?

  • Y txt msg if u hav a FONE in yr hand????

It seems silly to waste time punching out all those keys when you could communicate far more efficiently just by SPEAKING. So what am I missing here?

  • How to make plaster statues?

I'm trying to form a 16" statue reminicent of the Birth of Venus using plaster of paris. It seems I'm having difficulty carving and sanding, though. I keep chipping pieces off that I only wanted to smooth out. Where can I get some help here?

Okay, I've gone through the analysis, arguments, and texts. I KNOW somebody is lying, but I can't decide who. Suggestions?

  • Morality of cleaning my fish tank?

This morning as I was retrieving my email, my aquarium's main seals broke. Water poured all over my carpet, until there was only about 2 inches of water above the gravel level. Fortunately, I had a spare tank outside, which I was able to quickly set up. But when I tried to catch my fishies using a small transfer box, only a few trusted me enough to enter the safety of the box, so I could move them to a large, clean, safe tank. Many more were fairly easy to corral into the box on successive tries, but some refused to go. So I used the net, which is harder and more stressful on the ones who didn't want to go. But even then, a few managed to escape me. Finally I had to give up on them and begin clearing out the gravel and muck under the undergravel filter. Even then, I found and saved a few more babies. Then when I went to throw the dirty water out, I noticed a couple more that had been sucked out through the siphon tube.

  • Atheists, Can You Help Me?

This morning as I was retrieving my email, I heard a snapping sound followed by a rushing sound as one of my aquarium's main seals broke. • Why do we allow on-the-job training for senators and congressmen?

Shouldn't they be qualified before they even RUN for office? What's up with this CA proposition 93 that wants to give them more time for OJT???

  • Why are there such dramatically different warnings about the effects of man-made global warming?

Predictions of 20-foot rises in ocean levels have given way to talk of a few inches over time. In many cases, those predictions are less than the rises of the past few centuries. Whatever the case, why the scare tactics?

  • Why is there such a strong media effort to stifle discussion and dissent regarding GW?

I'm troubled by arguments that begin, 'Everybody agrees...' or 'Everyone knows...' In fact, there is a good deal of dissent in the scientific world about the theory of

man-made global warming. A large (and growing) segment of

those who study such things are questioning some of the basic premises of the theory. Why should there be anything wrong with that? Again, this is a big deal, and we should have the best information and opinion from the best minds. What is the Liberal Media hiding?

  • What factors led to 'Global Warming' in the past, and how do we know they aren't the current cause?

There is no question that warming cycles (or cooling, for that matter) have been a part of earth's history. Why are we so sure this one is different?

  • What is the perfect temperature?

If we are to embark on a lifestyle-altering quest to lower the

'global' temperature (or at least minimize its rise), what is

our goal? I don't ask this flippantly. Can we demonstrate that

one setting on the global thermostat is preferable over another?

If so, what is it, and how do we get there? And, once there,

how do we maintain it? Will we ever have to 'heat things up'

again if it drops below that point?

  • Anyone ever get carpet mushrooms?

I think it's just plain weird. I found mushrooms growing in the back room after our carpet got wet during a rainstorm. Has anyone else had ever had such a thing happen to them? How do I find out if they're mushrooms or toadstools?

  • Is there such a flight as Angora 227 Heavy?

I had a strange dream last night that it MIGHT crash but that was avoidable if they checked the foot controls and central throttle assembly.

In the dream, it was fixable with duct tape.

Does any of this make ANY sense?
