My name is Aimee. My husband and I have a wonderful male kitty name Bo and a min pin puppy named Duke. We live very happily in VA while he serves in the Marine Corps.
What do I do about tomorrow?
Tomorrow I'm scheduled for a transvaginal pelvic ultrasound and I'm new on birth control and I've been having, at times, heavy breakthrough bleeding. So far today.. I haven't been bleeding... but I have been for a week.. so there is a chance I will be tomorrow.
Is that ok? Or will I have to reschedule? Thanks! Just thinking in advance!
3 réponsesWomen's Healthil y a 1 décennieI think I'm experiencing .....?
breakthrough bleeding. I just started birth control pills a little over a week ago. The first week, I didn't really have any side effects/symptoms except being very emotional and a headache. Last night I was really crampy and before bed I was bleeding. This morning when I woke up.. I wasn't bleeding anymore. Today I have been crampy again and just started bleeding again. FYI: my period isn't due for two weeks. Also, there is clots.
I'm sure this is normal, however... is this common for it to stop and start like this? Because, if so.. I'll deal.. haha.. but its annoying!
Any suggestions? Thanks!
4 réponsesWomen's Healthil y a 1 décennieWhat age to start potty-training?
I'm not a parent yet, but most of my friends are. I notice when I look around that a lot of toddlers are still in diapers and their parents aren't even trying to potty-train. I understand each child is different, but some of these kids are too big to be wearing diapers.
My mom had both me and my sister potty trained before we were 14 months old. We were both walking completely before age one. I understand that might be a little extreme. But I think by two years old... a child should be potty trained. WITH the exception of "special" cases.
Where does everyone else stand on this?
16 réponsesParentingil y a 1 décennieGosh what could this be???
In the last couple of hours I've gotten severe diherrea and my left calf/shin is hurting so bad. I'm also so cold.. I have my heater on.
What on earth is this? I'm in intense pain and this isn't fun!
5 réponsesOther - General Health Careil y a 1 décennieQuestion for ladies PLEASE!?
Yesterday I went for my first ever gyn appointment. I suffer from severe menstrual cramps and have since I started my period. The Doctor did the normal exam and all of that. At the end she said I needed to schedule a tranvaginal ultrasound. I am VERY concerned. She didn't mention feeling anything on my ovaries.. but then I'm afraid she just didn't want to scare me. She did mention wanting to do it to check for endometriosis.
Will anyone please tell me what that ultrasound is like?? Is it painful? How long does it last? Do they use a speculum? Also.. what are all of the thing the doctor might be checking for? If she felt something weird on my ovary, wouldn't she tell me? I'm just paranoid now. Thanks so much ladies!

3 réponsesWomen's Healthil y a 1 décennieQuestion about catnip..?
We just recently introduced our kitty to catnip and he went crazy! He LOVED it. I don't know exactly what it does though. I've been told it, in a sense, gets them kinda high? Is that true. And is it 100% safe? How often can we give it to him?
He was sooooooo cute last night! He loved the stuff. He was in heaven.
Thanks in advance. Just curious and want to make sure its completely safe!
8 réponsesCatsil y a 1 décennieBC pill or patch?
I'm going next week for my first ever GYN appointment. I'm VERY nervous and scared, but that isn't the point. I'm married and the hubby and I have decided I need to get on BC.
I've heard lots of ppl saying that the patch is more dangerous than pills in the aspect of bloodclots. Is this true? I just think I need to have an idea of what I want to start on before I get there.
Thanks in advance.
7 réponsesWomen's Healthil y a 1 décennieMoving options for military families..?
My husband and I will be getting out of the military this summer. We have heard of two options. We heard that the military will hire professional movers to move us home free of charge OR that the military will reimburse us 90% if we rent a U-haul and move ourselves. Are both of these true? Does anyone know any other options? Does anyone have a suggestion? It's time for us to figure this out. Thanks!

4 réponsesCatsil y a 1 décennieIcky Question about feces..?
My puppy has stringy poop. Sometimes there will be a full turd (I am SO sorry to use that word, but I don't know another one to use) hanging almost to the ground. He has to shake it off. What is it hanging by? I look for a hair or something, but there is nothing.
This might be silly to some people. I know he is healthy... it just bothers me. Ewww.

4 réponsesOther - Healthil y a 1 décennieNew puppy... biter already?
Ok- we have a 4 month old min pin that we have had for almost a month. We just went for a walk and along the walk, when he would see ANY human coming in the distance he would stop and start backing up behind me as far as the leash would let him. As the people would get closer he would run off in the grass and stop. He never growled or barked... just got scared. Each time I would try to calm him before the people would get to us.. but he wouldn't have it. Just to make sure he wouldn't bite anyone I would pick him up. As we got back into our immediate neighborhood there were children out playing. They all wanted to pet him and such and he snapped at two different children. They were nice about it and I explained that he was a puppy and didn't want to hurt them. (even though he probably did!) I had to pick him up and when I did he calmed down a little, but was still very upset. Inside our house, he is fine with friends. Not outside. What do we do? I'm so shook up.

11 réponsesPoliticsil y a 1 décennieWhat is the initial symptoms of being poisoned by the contaminated food?
My kitty has developed diherrea this morning. He eats Purina Cat food (dry) and wet Friskies. I think those are both supposed to be safe. Maybe its just diherrea, but I wanted to ask.
Thanks!
7 réponsesCatsil y a 1 décennieWhat do you REALLY think about the military?
I'm interested to hear. My husband is a Marine and while browsing on here while he supports our freedom I've come across several comments about the military being for ignorant, uneducated people who can't get a better job. Do some people really think that or are they just seeking attention? I find that really upsetting if true.
Let me explain, my husband isn't ignorant at all. He is actually really smart. He was in the top 5% of his graduating high school class, but signed a contract with the USMC when he was a Junior in high school. The only way he describes it is very casual. He wanted to defend our country. He thought it was a duty - he never looked at it as an option. (thank God it is) I admire him for that. He WANTED to go to war. WANTED. I understand that the military isn't for everyone. (some ppl can't endure it) The LEAST they could do is respect those who do join.
I'm just curious and looking for answers. This is upsetting as first an AMERICAN and second a military wife
