  • Where can I buy Betsey Johnson eyeglass frames on Oahu?

This is from her Eyewear Collection, not sunglasses. I called the 866-534-2243 number today, but they were already closed. I like the Gorgeous in Gingham model (#BJ 070SG). Has anybody seen these at an optical shop?

  • Paper recycling in Oahu?

I noticed that the new Opala recyle bins located at schools such as Castle, and the Kapolei complex have lists of what not to recycle. These include phone books, junk mail envelopes. Where would I be able to drop off those paper items? I don't want to throw away phone books, since they are so big and filled with so much paper on the inside.

  • Difficult previous pregnancy, is going to an ice skating rink safe?

    It's not me.

I have a coworker who miscarried during her first pregnancy. We have an upcoming all day ice skating field trip at an indoor rink, where she will be chaperoning. Will the cold indoor climate possibly affect her current pregnancy? I don't know if she will actually be skating on the rink.

  • Corned beef and cabbage add-ins?

I'm making this tonight, using a Paula Deen recipe. Is there anything else I could add in here to make it better?

    4 slices bacon

    4 tablespoons butter

1 head green cabbage, coarsely chopped

Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

    1 can corned beef

"Cook the bacon in large pot over medium heat until almost crisp. Remove the bacon from the pot and set aside. Melt the butter in the pot with the bacon grease. Add the cabbage, stirring well to coat the cabbage in fat. Add about 1/3 cup water, and salt and pepper, to taste. Cover pot with a lid, and cook over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, chop the bacon into small pieces.

Remove the lid from the pot, and scatter chunks of corned beef and chopped bacon over top of the cabbage. Cover and cook until desired doneness. I personally like a little bit of crunch left to the cabbage."

  • Toss ravioli with what?

I have almost NOTHING in the cupboard and refridgerator, but I found this Sandra Lee recipe online. Any other ideas?

Ravioli with Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Brown Butter Walnuts

    Prep time: 5 minutes

    Cook time: 10 minutes

    Makes: 4 servings

Browning butter brings out a subtle nuttiness that complements the heart-healthy walnuts and releases an irresistibly sweet perfume. Sun-dried tomatoes give it just the right squish of juiciness.

    1 package (16-ounce) mozzarella and herb double-stuffed ravioli, Buitoni®

    4 ounces butter

2 teaspoons Italian salad dressing mix, Good Seasons®

    1/4 cup walnut pieces, Planters®

1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes, oil packed, drained and julienned

    1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add ravioli and cook to al dente, about 8 to 9 minutes, until they float to the water's surface.

    2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a small saucepan, over medium to high heat. Cook butter until golden brown and bubbling. Add Italian dressing mix, walnut pieces, and sun-dried tomatoes and heat through.

    3. Use a colander to drain ravioli and toss ravioli with sauce.

  • Does anybody know Christopher Karki from WA?

He was born in 1972, worked at Polo Ralph Lauren in 1996-1997, eventually married a Japanese national. Around 1997-1998, he was a manager at Al Dente Restaurant in Guam? I tried to look him up facebook.com and was not able to find him.
