I've looked at Dillards, Macy's and Nordstrom without success. I've also telephoned several bridal shops and asked about mother of the bride dresses. I want a dress that is made in a petite size, not a misses dress that requires major alterations.

These don't belong in a landfill, but how should I dispose of them? North County locations preferred.

I'm planning a family time capsule that we will open in five or 10 years, and I'm looking for suggestions on what to put in it.

Everyone will fill out a fun questionnaire - questions that we'll enjoy and maybe even laugh about as we complete the form and again when we open it in the future. For instance, what was the most important event in your life this year? What did you pay for something recently? Who is the tallest grandchild today, and who will be tallest in ten years? How many children under the age of 5 will we have in the family 10 years from now?

Please help me come up with other entertaining questions.

I'm also looking for ideas of other things to put in my time capsule. Family photos of course. Programs from family weddings, graduations, etc. Recent birth and wedding announcements. Other ideas?

I'm looking for a heavyweight cotton appropriate for napkins, tablecloth, placemats, even kitchen towels, maybe with stripes or a nubby texture. This is not a lightweight printed fabric like quilt fabric. I've gone to my favorite fabric web sites and searched for cotton, tablecloth, napkin, towel, toweling, and even gabardine, but didn't find what I was looking for. What is this kind of fabric called?

I've always used low-loft polyester batting. Will cotton batting work with a standard sewing machine (not a long arm)? The quilt will be for twin size bed.

I'd like to upgrade to a new sewing machine, which will be used primarily for quilting. I haven't done machine embroidery, but I'm interested in learning. Would a Brother SE370D work for both? Can you recommend a reliable machine for less than $500 that will handle both quilting and embroidery?

I forgot to pick up cream at the grocery store. Does anyone have a chocolate fondue recipe that doesn't require cream?

It's too bad skim milk won't mix with melted butter to create cream without separating.

I'm interested in a sewing machine that has a larger throat than my 25-year-old basic Singer to make machine quilting easier, but a long-arm machine is totally out of my price range. The only web site I've found with machine prices and features is out of date (2002). Is there a good machine with a large throat, and what does it cost?

Would a Bernina, Janome or Pfaff have a larger throat than my old work-horse Singer, and what is the price? Is there another brand I should consider?

I've been trying to get to www.etsy.com, but I keep getting a message that my cookies weren't read correctly. Can anyone else get to Etsy? Is it my computer, or is Etsy having technical difficulties?

I've used www.qnm.com in the past, but the quilting motif link isn't working. Any other good sites for this?

I'm a beginner, and I've read that a walking foot is appropriate for machine quilting. Is it necessary or just helpful? Can you give me a link to a photo so I know what it looks like? What does a walking foot cost?
