My Wife and I are going to Vegas for the 4th of July, we plan on leaving around 6:00 pm Wednessday July 3rd. My wife is saying there is going to be too much Traffic and she wants to fly. we live in Corona Ca. so without traffic it is just a little over 3 hours. we are bringing our son so the flights would be pretty expensive. I think most people would not leave the day before, but you know how it is i dont want to hear the i told you so's..

Itoday I test drove a 1984 300d and while driving it shifted really hard between 1st and 2nd gears. no noise associated with it it just made my head whip back. is this common, is there a cheap fix or does it need a new transmission? on another note i noticed that the engine compartment had allot of oil all around it. should this bother me or seeing how it is a 25 year old car is this common? oh yeah the odometer reads 147000 miles.
